Design with intent

I design digital products that make sense. By cutting through clutter and focusing on clear user flows, I turn complex workflows into clean, human-centered interfaces. Whether I'm mapping out intuitive interaction models or polishing design systems, my goal is simple: to build products that feel effortless to use.

How I think

Four principles behind the work

I spent five years teaching children before I designed for them. These are the rules that came out of that, and where each one shows up in the work below.

01

Accessibility is structure, not a final pass

In Smartie the accessibility toolbar sits on every screen — font size, colour theme, focus mode, text-to-speech, stop animation — so a child changes their own environment without asking an adult. A setting buried in a menu is a setting a seven-year-old never finds.

02

Design the states nobody demos

TaskPulse AI is six screens and four of them are states: empty, AI responding, task detail, AI confirming. A dashboard is easy to make beautiful when it is full of data. The real work is what someone sees when it is not — or when a system is deciding something on their behalf.

03

Pacing beats pressure

Teaching children with short attention spans taught me that streaks and timers produce anxiety, not engagement. So Smartie opens by asking how you are feeling — happy, tired, focused, overwhelmed — and offers three-minute brain breaks instead of scores. I design for the child who is tired, not only the one who is motivated.

04

Decide it, then defend it

Smartie's background is dark blue rather than pure black, because hard black-and-white contrast makes text shimmer for readers with dyslexia. Every colour, size and spacing choice in my work has a reason attached to it, and I would rather be asked about them than not.
